MAKEUP TECHNIQUES

Techniques used (for the face)

When talking about techniques it is important to mention that there is no exact rule or procedure, the techniques will be applied in the order that suits each person and according to their tastes and needs.

Contouring

It is the technique where the face is contoured using concealers and bronzers (powder or cream). This technique is used to define or highlight cheekbones, chin, nose, reduce forehead or chin or soften jaw.5

Baking (baked)

It is the process of applying a generous amount of translucent powder under the eyes, jawline and cheekbones to achieve a flawless, wrinkle-free finish. The traditional technique uses a damp sponge to allow the translucent powder to sit for 5-10 minutes to blend into your foundation and concealer. This technique is used to show off an effect without shine ordeath as well as a long duration in the area that you want to highlight.

Strobing[

The technique with a natural appearance to give light to the face (does not apply bronzers), accentuating light points such as the cupid's bow, chin, nose, cheekbones and eyebrows, using powder, liquid or stick illuminator. We can also illuminate with matte finish concealers in tones that are lighter than the skin to work on.

Draping

Draping is a technique similar to contouring, because it also consists of sculpting the face, the difference is that instead of doing it with dark shadow, it is done with blush. The effect we achieve with this technique are well-defined cheeks.

To perform "draping" we will need two shades of blush from the same color range, but of different intensities. One will need to be darker and one lighter.

Once we have the two blushes, we take the darker shade and apply it under the cheekbones. It is important that you apply little and blend well so that it looks natural.

Then, take the lightest blush and apply it from the center of the cheek (the apples) extending towards the cheekbone, in a higher area than where we have applied the previous color. In this way, we will place the lighter shade slightly above the darker shade. This will create a gradient from lighter to darker.
